The Village of Carpentersville operates under the council-manager form of government in which an elected Board, consisting of the President (chief elected official) and six Trustees, appoints a professional manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of government services and programs. The council-manager form of government combines the leadership of elected officials with the experience of a professional manager.
The Village Board of Trustees meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Village Hall. If you are unable to attend the meetings, they are televised every Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. on Comcast cable channel 17. To see a schedule of meetings for 2010, click here.
The Village Clerk is appointed by the President with the approval of the Board of Trustees. The Clerk serves as the recording secretary for the Board of Trustees and as the local election officer for all municipal elections. |
