Patrol Division
The patrol division provides emergency services to the community 24
hours a day, 7 days per week. The patrol division is staffed with one
patrol commander, six sergeants, thirty nine patrol officers, and four
community service officers. Several officers are assigned to specialty
positions which include Traffic/Truck Enforcement, Canine Officer, Field
Training Officer, Evidence Technician, Juvenile Officer, Range Officer,
and School Liaison Officers.
Patrol officers primary functions include responding to non-emergency
and emergency calls for service, enforcement of criminal and traffic
laws, and preliminary investigations of criminal acts.
School Resource Officers
The Carpentersville Police Department provides law enforcement and
police services to the District 300 schools while working closely with
the students, school community, and administrators. Officers are
assigned to Dundee-Crown High School and Carpentersville Middle School,
and a D.A.R.E. Officer teaches drug abuse resistance to Lakewood and
Liberty Elementary schools.
