Fire Department SealThe Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services to the residents of the Village, as well as the surrounding Carpentersville and Countryside Fire Protection District. The department provides several other services, which include but are not limited to fire prevention, fire investigation, public education, specialized rescue that includes: confined space, trench rescue, high angle, hazardous materials, water and ice rescue, and building collapse. In 2014, the department responded to 3,518 calls for service of which 2,609 were medical related calls and 909 fire related calls. The east side station handled 53.7% of the calls, with the old town station handling 27.4% and the west side station handling 18.9%. Forty-six structure fires were responded to in 2014, which resulted in $306,305 in fire loss. The east side station houses a front line fast attack fire engine which is advanced life support (ALS) equipped and two ALS ambulances. The west side station houses a front line fast attack ALS fire engine and an ALS ambulance.  The headquarters station, located in the old town section, houses the same front line engine and ambulance as the others but also has a 100' tower ladder.
