The Mission of the Community Development Department is to maintain
and improve neighborhoods by developing and implementing innovative
programs and enforcement methods; to guide development projects by
providing professional planning, plan review, and inspection services
that are comprehensive, and long-range; to monitor impacts of
development and property maintenance code provisions and recommend
amendments to ensure desired outcomes are achieved and as a result
economic development is supported; is responsible for the design,
review, construction inspection, and acceptance of the installation of
public improvements in residential, commercial, and industrial
developments, including the management and tracking of developer
guarantees from approval of the final plat of subdivision through the
end of maintenance and acceptance of the development by the Village; to
provide responsive customer service with the highest level of integrity
and professionalism; and to remain committed to promoting and protecting
the health, safety, well-being, and welfare of all Village residents and
businesses.
The Community Development Department's primary responsibility is to
oversee the engineering, planning, zoning, building, and code enforcement activities
of the Village of Carpentersville. This department has four functions:
engineering, planning and zoning, building and code enforcement.
