In an effort to enhance and revitalize the Route 25 commercial
corridor, the Village of Carpentersville is considering the
establishment of a tax increment finance (TIF) district that would
extend from north of Lake Marian Road to Northlake Parkway.
Tax
increment financing is a powerful economic development tool that assists
municipalities with stimulating development and redevelopment in areas
that would not otherwise be commercially productive. Based upon a
careful study of the Route 25 corridor, the Village's development
advisor (S.B. Friedman & Company) has determined that a TIF district
could potentially assist in the rejuvenation of this important
commercial area.
In accordance with statutory requirements to
keep the public informed of the TIF process, an Interested Parties
Registry has been established. If you seek to be added to the registry
you may download the necessary application form and registry rules as
found below.
